Welcome back to Mind Reimagined, where we take a holistic view of our mental health and wellness through the arts, community, and self-care. In this blog, I wanted to talk a bit about how to know when you're healing from past traumas and recognizing your growth.
Those who've experienced trauma may have a tough time moving forward with their daily life. They can either not let go of the past or may compartmentalize their trauma and push it to the back of their mind.
It can be easy to only look at what you've gone through instead of how you've soared through it; so I've listed a few signs below to let you know that you are healing:
You have more good days than bad
You recognize that bad situations are temporary
You have a healthier relationship with food
You make sleep a priority
You give yourself space when needed
You have healthy boundaries
You surround yourself with people who support you
You speak kindly/neutrally about your body
You nourish your mind
You honor and release your emotions
You take what people say with a grain of salt
